Ingredients

For the Pasta

  • 1 cup Prolicious High-Protein Pasta
  • Water, as required
  • Salt, as required

For the Arrabbiata Sauce

  • 3–4 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 2–3 dry red chillies, according to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ¼ cup cream
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, optional

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Boil the Tomatoes

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.

Add the tomatoes and boil for a few minutes until the skin begins to soften and split.

Remove the tomatoes from the hot water and place them immediately in cold water.

This helps stop the cooking process and makes the skin easier to remove.

Once the tomatoes have cooled, peel off the skin.

Add the blanched tomatoes and dry red chillies to a blender.

Blend everything until smooth.

Your homemade spicy arrabbiata puree is ready.

Step 2: Prepare the Pasta

Bring water to a boil in a large pot.

Add a pinch of salt and Prolicious High-Protein Pasta.

Cook according to the package instructions until al dente.

Drain the pasta and keep it aside.

Step 4: Cook the Arrabbiata Sauce

Heat oil in a pan.

Add the prepared tomato and red chilli puree.

Cook on medium heat for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.

If using garlic, sauté it in the oil before adding the puree.

Step 5: Add Cream and Seasoning

Add cream to the tomato sauce.

Then add:

  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Extra chilli flakes, if desired

Mix everything well until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

Allow it to simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.

Step 6: Add the Boiled Pasta

Add the boiled Prolicious High-Protein Pasta to the arrabbiata sauce.

Mix well until every piece of pasta is coated with the creamy, spicy tomato sauce.

Cook for another 1–2 minutes.

And done!

Your delicious High-Protein Arrabbiata Pasta is ready to enjoy.

FAQs

What makes arrabbiata sauce spicy?

Arrabbiata sauce gets its signature spicy flavour from red chillies. You can adjust the amount according to your preference.

Can I use fresh red chillies instead of dry red chillies?

Yes. Fresh red chillies can be used, although dry red chillies give the sauce a deeper, slightly smoky flavour.

Can I make this pasta for kids?

Absolutely. Reduce the chilli or skip it completely for a milder version.

Can I make the sauce ahead of time?

Yes. Prepare the tomato and chilli sauce ahead and refrigerate it. Reheat gently, add the cream, and toss with freshly cooked pasta.

Can I make this without cream?

Yes. You can skip the cream for a classic tomato arrabbiata sauce or use a plant-based cream alternative.

Can I add cheese?

Yes. A little grated cheese can be added before serving for extra richness.
