Ingredients
- Prolicious Millet vermicelli 1cup or 45g
- Prolicious Oats Chilla 2tbsp or 30g
- Carrot 25g
- Capsicum 25g
- Curry leaves
- Oil 1tbsp
- Red chilli powder
- Turmeric powder
Instructions
- In a dry pan, roast the Prolicious Millet vermicelli over medium heat until it turns light golden brown and crisp. Stir frequently to prevent burning. Once done, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
- Once the roasted vermicelli has cooled down, crush it into smaller pieces. You can do this by hand or use a rolling pin to gently crush it.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed vermicelli and chilla mix.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt according to your taste. Remember Prolicious Oats Chilla mix has this ingredient already so add it smartly.
- Add the finely chopped carrot and capsicum to the batter. Tear and add a few curry leaves for flavor.
- Heat appam pan and add a little oil to each mold.
- Spoon a portion of the batter into each mold, filling them about 2/3rd full.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low to medium heat.
- Once the bottom of the appam turns golden brown and crisp gently flip each appam using a spatula.
- Cook the other side the same way.
- Serve the Prolicious Millet Vermicelli appams hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
